Strong showing by Singapore para athletes at Glasgow 2026

Four Singapore para athletes competed across swimming and bowls at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, with Toh Wei Soong bringing home a silver medal.
Singapore para swimmer Toh Wei Soong won a silver medal in the men’s 50m freestyle S7 at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, finishing the final in 29.36 seconds.
Toh qualified for the final after placing second in the heats with a time of 29.44 seconds. His medal was one of two silvers won by Singapore at the Games, which took place from 23 July to 2 August 2026.
Fellow para swimmer Wong Zhi Wei competed in two S13 freestyle events. He finished sixth in the men’s 100m freestyle final in 58.98 seconds, improving on his heat time of 59.93 seconds.
Wong also reached the men’s 50m freestyle S13 final, where he placed seventh in 26.83 seconds after recording 26.94 seconds in the heats.
In para bowls, Khirmern Bin Mohamad and Mawjit Singh s/o Gurmet Singh represented Singapore in the men’s pairs B6–B8 event.
The pair lost their opening matches against England and Scotland before drawing with Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. However, they were defeated in the tie-break on all three occasions and finished sixth in the sectional standings.
The four athletes represented Singapore across para swimming and para bowls at the integrated Commonwealth Games, where para-sport events were held alongside the other sporting competitions.
